A week in links (Thanksgiving / Black Friday version)

Any of you guys and gals out there land any sweet deals for Black Friday?  I didn't do any shopping, but my sister told me people were out and about on midnight waiting in line.  That's hardcore if you ask me.  Last time I did any midnight line queuing, it was for the Nintendo Wii.  It sucked waiting in line in the freezing cold…at least Target was nice enough to hand out some warm cocoa for us "hardcore" gamers lol.

Happy belated Thanksgiving!  Yeah, it's been a terribly busy week for everyone, I'm sure.  My father had surgery a few days back and got out of the hospital on Thanksgiving.  I could've sworn I heard one of the doctors say that they didn't want to allow any patients to stay there during the holidays.  Pretty scandalous, if you ask me.  Why bother scheduling surgery the day before then?

Meh.  Lots of good links to be had here.  I've been playing Tekken 6 online alot lately since the new patch came out and "beefed up" the netplay.  It still sucks, but it's a lot better than what it used to be.

UJE マンガ 連載中タイトル 鉄漫 TEKKENCOMIC
A Tekken 6 manga!  In English, too!

YouTube – Cat VS Cop: Fight For Your Right! LOL
Funniest thing I've seen in a while (regarding cats, anyway).  Poor cat, he gets tossed and kicked and booted all over the place, but not once did he give up!

Japanese Anime Studios Feel Pressure From Unhappy Artists and Outsourcing – WSJ.com
Very interesting yet pretty obvious article about the decline of the anime industry in Japan.  Any otaku out there worth their salt already knows of the pitfalls and perils of animators and the like, so stories like these don't really do much besides shedding more light.

People Focus: Seiyuu and Animators are Slaves, not Stars at Riuva : Research Institute for Unicultural Visual Arts
Even more in-depth from the eyes of fans and people behind the industry as well.  Very good read; compliments the Wall Street Journal's article too.

ホテルのベッドの上でハイテンションではしゃぐ人々 – GIGAZINE
Pictures of people jumping on hotel beds — the new craze that's sweeping the nation!

Brad Pitt & Quentin Tarantino meet SMAP | Japan Probe
Bistro SMAP is a remarkably funny show that doesn't get much attention over here in the states, but apparently if you're a Hollywood celebrity and you're promoting your movie in Japan, you're guaranteed to make a pitstop here.

NPR report on Japan’s herbivore men
Herbivore men, a.k.a. metrosexual men who develop feminine hobbies such as cake tasting.  Interesting listen from a western perspective (what's up with all these stories this week?).

Daigo Umehara: The King of Fighters Interview | Eurogamer
I don't really like this article as the writer introduces this story like something in a gossip rag, but whatever.  The little side images are retarded too.  They reek of ignorance.
