The difference between Japan and America


Saw this the other day while I was browsing.  Is google Japan turning into the next yahoo?  Or is this what industry trends in Japan prefer?  Sometimes I wonder what google has in mind overseas…

    I notice Japanese websites generally have more stuff on them—it’s part of the æsthetic that they are used to. Also, Yahoo! Japan is number one there—it has a high market capitalization—and it is particularly cluttered. Google is playing follow the leader in some ways.

    Yeah, I'm aware that Yahoo is Japan's go-to site for everything. The gap is widening though; the top news sites and social gathering circles are starting to branch out.I'm just wondering if google might be trying something fishy over there…
