“It’s my turn. Get chance and luck!”

Haven't watched Angel Beats at all, but this scene alone has unanimously changed my opinion for the better. Gag anime ftw!

Summer Anime Season of 2010 Greatness

Summer season looks really good this time around.  Of all the titles on the list, I'd put my bets on High School of the Dead (which is a no-brainer), Legend of the Legendary Heroes, Seikimatsu Occult Gakuen, and Tono to Issho.  There's a few more continuations series like Sekirei and Strike Witches, but as far as the new stuff goes it's pretty good.

Looked a bit better than the Spring season anyway.  There weren't too many shows that caught my eye that time around.

So if you only have time to watch one show this year, make it High School of the Dead.  It's like a hybrid combination of 28 Days Later, George Romero, and Tenjo Tenge (just mindless sexualization e.g. boob shots).

Hell yes, I’m going to watch this (Long live Huke-san!)

ブラック★ロックシューター パイロット映像

It just sucks that the voice actor for the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid series isn't taking a part in this, but maybe it's all for the best…

Gonzo releases Super Street Fighter IV anime trailer

Super Street Fighter 4: Gonzo Production Trailer

It's also available on XBox Live.  Studio Gonzo doing the production work…not a fan of Gonzo as of late (just look at their track record of titles in the past), but their CG work is usually top quality and looks pretty.  If pretty means fan service, I suppose.

The story seems to be focused around Juri, the new super-sexy villain from SIN.  Chun Li, Guile, and Cammy pursue her for answers (where's C. Viper?  I thought she was integral to the story in vanilla SFIV?).  The result?  Fight scenes with the characters wearing their original outfits, that's what!  Oh, and Cammy wears her DLC outfit too.

I never did understand how Cammy fights in her leotard / one-piece swimsuit garb.  You'd think she win a tournament somewhere based on that fact alone…

Some additional notes about the Fall 2009 anime season

Since that last post was starting to get a little ridiculously long, I made the conscious decision to stick all other anime-related news onto a separate post to divide the clutter.

Here's some other shows that haven't aired yet but you might want to consider on your to-watch list:

  • Tentai Senshi Sunred Season Two
  • Natsu no Arashi Season Two
  • Kimi ni Todoke
  • Darker than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini (Season Two)
  • Kuuchuu Buranko

Tentai Senshi Sunred is awesome, but that's a foregone conclusion.  If you don't catch the tv broadcast, the official website might post up reruns for free again online (cross your fingers).  The first season of Natsu no Arashi was alright, but the quality is usually pretty high and the wacky story might be enough to pull you in again.  Kimi ni Todoke looks pretty interesting from it's premise (a high school girl is unable to make friends due to her horrible looks), so it's worth a gander.

Darker than Black was the standout this season because of it's cult following a few years back, but the story was kind of typical and contrived and ended on a humongous let down.  I'm tempted to go back, yet wary altogether.

Kuuchuu Buranko seems to be the one circulating the most hype this season, especially for those anime fans who hunger for something more intelligent and charming than stuff like say, Queens Blade or something (lol).  I will be watching it as well, probably due more to the hype than anything else.

On a related note, the online broadcast date for the last three Bakemonogatari episodes have been announced online.  They'll be on the official website starting October 28th, so mark your calendars!

Damn this song!

Bakemonogatari 4th OP (english sub)

I loooove this show, it's so classy and clever — the best summer series in years!  While the 10th episode was pretty crappy compared to the earlier ones, this song alone was probably it's saving grace.  It's already on my playlist, and someone out there leaked out the full version.

I don't really think its the real full version though, it sounds more like the TV-size version looped twice.  Still, it's my latest addiction…
